More vegetables to harvest and can this week, with that in mind, I had to mention my favorite slicer is a Borner V-slicer.  The preparation time of canning the carrots yesterday was cut in half using the V-slicer.    Doing a lot in a little bit of time can make all the difference when your are looking at being more sustainable.   

 Lets take a moment to talk about the hit our budget takes at the pump.  I saved a total of .85 cents today on gas using a coupon.  Now .85 probably doesn't seem worth it, but it does add up.  Some gas stations offer $20.00 off an oil change after getting a punch card filled.  One of our local gas stations offered a dime off per gallon on Sunday's.
